1982 Nissan 280zx non turbo - Valve keeper removal and install

i hear a ticking noise coming from under the valve covers. Was told it was the
valve keepers.

They will always make noise, but they may need adjustment if they are quite loud. You can open the valve cover and do it with a manual fairly easily. Or take it to a shop.
