Battery light on

Hey guys! Looking for a bit of help. We got
a 2004 Ford E350 and the battery light has
come on. We've not long bought it and
know that the alternator was replaced
about 3 years ago. We've also been doing
a van conversion in it so the interior lights
stay on for a while. But this morning we
jumped in and watch the battery level go
down until the van went dead! Anyone
know if it's the battery or the alternator or
something else??

Jump it then remove the battery cables from battery if it stays running it's not the alternator
