Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since yesterday, the red parking brake warning light within the instrument cluster continues glowing when the engine is running / while driving. The parking brake was fully released and the brakes seem to operate properly. Is this rather an electro-mechanical issue (e.g. sticking switch) or should I have my brake system professionally checked ?

I don't know if the early cars had the fluid level sensor...... You problem is probably the switch on the parking brake....If you look at the parking brake assembly you will see some wires going to it....follow the wires to the connector. If you unplug the connector and the problem goes away it is the switch
