Red or yellow light? If red do not drive as engine damage will result. If yellow then get the codes and run diagnostics on those codes, and reprice or repair the systems involved.

You need to get an OBD2 code reader; almost any parts store will let you use one. You plug the reader into a recpticle under the dash usually right next to the steering column. You then turn the key on and watch the reader until it shows "done". Then take the reader back into the store and they will download it into their computer which will analyze the data and print a report. The report will give you a general list of areas to check on your car. Sometimes it's as simple as a missing gas cap.
